Mysuru: The Mysuru District Police has implemented the new Beat System by deputing 28 Police personnel at various villages in three taluks — Periyapatna, H.D. Kote and Hunsur.
The Police personnel, mainly the Constables and Head Constables, will stay overnight in these villages and gather information on various issues.
The Police personnel deputed to the villages will not be changed for a year as per the ‘Jana Snehi’ initiative launched by the State Police Department.
The Constable or the Head Constable deputed for a village will be responsible for executing all Police duties including serving summons/warrants, gathering information, maintaining list of rowdy-sheeters and offenders among others.
This apart, the Police Department will also form a Committee comprising both Police and Public, who will meet on a regular basis and discuss on various issues. The Police personnel deputed to the villages will record the highlights of the meeting in the Beat Book.

We should remember the constables are also human. they need timely facility and protection too. The cop should be well equiped with latest gun and not wood stick. he will always be under threat so he should be provided with small standalone transport bike not bicycle.
Police should now be we equiped and have good connectivity to station for backups. There are many un organized gangsters under orange cloth not caring for law.
