Mysuru: Continuing his padayatra for the fourth day today, KR MLA S.A. Ramdas visited areas around Jain Bhavan under MCC Ward No. 2 and Agrahara this morning and heard grievances of the public.
Later speaking to press persons near Renukacharya Temple in Agrahara, Ramdas said that he was disappointed to see that the houses being built for the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s “Housing for all” scheme is yet to be completed even after eight months.
Alleging poor quality of construction, he said that he has asked the officials to check the quality and he will hold a meeting with the MCC and Slum Board officials in this regard later this afternoon.
Pointing out that BPL card holders were given time for registering under “Housing for all” scheme till June 15, Ramdas assured that all the registered beneficiaries will get houses.
Taking exception to unfinished development works along Charamaja Double Road, he said that improper drainage works had been causing a lot of inconvenience to the residents and he would take up the issue with concerned officials.
Referring to Mysuru slipping to eighth position in the Swachh Survekshan 2018, Ramdas said that he would strive hard apolitically for ensuring that Mysuru regains its top position next year.
MCC Zone-1 AC Sunil Babu, Corporator Shivakumar, BJP Leader Jogi Manju, MCC EE Javed and others were present.
MCC Ward No. 14
On Sunday, Ramdas visited several areas coming under MCC Ward No. 14 that falls under K.R. Constituency.
Inspecting Madhuvana Layout, Ramdas directed CESC officials to maintain street lights from the Department itself without collecting the expenses from the residents.
As Ramdas carried out padayatra in the area, residents came up with a slew of complaints and grievances on lack of civic amenities in the area. He directed the officials to address the grievances at the earliest. Some residents complained of erratic drinking water supply, when the MLA set a one-week deadline for the officials to rectify the problem.
Moving further in the area, Ramdas instructed the officials to construct platforms at the parks in Madhuvana Layout and Aravindnagar in order to enable the joggers to perform yoga. He later visited Surya Layout and surrounding areas and inspected the underground drainage system there when he asked the officials to clear all encroachments and thus prevent rain water gushing into homes whenever it rains heavily.
Guddali puja
Meanwhile, MP Pratap Simha performed guddali puja for renovation of the park at Aravindnagar, taken up at a cost of Rs. 1 crore under AMRUT scheme of the Union Government. MLA Ramdas and others were present.
