Sir,
I travel quite often between Mysuru and Bengaluru by train. After completion of double track works, we see that there are a good number of trains running between these two cities. Let us thank the Railways for that.
Now, I want to bring it to the notice of the Railway authorities about a problem being faced by travellers, like me, since a long time.
There are many travellers who reserve their tickets particularly in express trains between Mysuru-Bengaluru. But the Railway authorities don’t publish the list of seats reserved on the reservation bogies. Earlier, they used to publish the list of reserved seats as soon as the trains arrived.
Nowadays this practice is not being followed and it is creating utter confusion and chaotic situation, because the people won’t know that certain bogies are reserved and they enter such bogies and sit there thinking that they are meant for everybody. After sometime the people who have actually reserved their seats come and ask the earlier occupants to vacate their seats! Now unreserved people have to vacate their seats and they can’t go to other bogies which would have got filled by that time.
In order to get rid-off this problem, the authorities of the Railways have to bring back the system of publishing the list of reserved seats as soon as the trains arrive in the station. This will allow the people, who have not reserved their seats, to occupy unreserved seats and travel peacefully and comfortably to their destinations.
