MICAnvas’19 State-level Academic, Cultural and Sports Fest held

Mysuru: MICAnvas’19, the annual State-level Academic, Cultural and Sports Festival, was held recently. MI7s – floodlight football tournament, MIBasketball floodlight league match, PUBG, Treasure hunt, were preludes to the Festival.

MET (Mysore Educational Trust) Chairman Syed Ishaq inaugurated the event. Amir Sadan, Secretary, MET  (Mysore Educational Trust), presided. M.N. Ponnamma, Principal, MICA, in her annual report 2018-19 presented the achievements of MICAns for the academic year. Fouzan Raheel, Director, MET, was present during the inaugural.

The most contributing and preforming students at MICA were awarded the MIST (MICA Integrated Skills Training) certificates, with their skills-set and attributes printed.

The 6th edition of the MICANews, MICA’s own newsletter, with K.B. Yogapriya (I PU student) as the Editor, was released.

U. Aparna and Shreya Sujith were the MCs. Nayana Bharadwaj welcomed the audience. Rakshan Mohammed  presented the valedictory note. Anchal Jain proposed a vote of thanks.

In the academic event, 13 teams from various colleges participated. SBRR Mahajana’s team emerged winners and bagged trophies, certificates and a cash prize of Rs.25,000.

In the photography event, Socrates emerged winner and Keerthan emerged runner with cash prize of Rs.6,000 and Rs.3,000 respectively.

In the BQuiz event, G.N. Tejas & Vishnuvardhan emerged winners and Rizwan Pasha & Vishnpriya became runners with a cash prize of Rs.3,000 and Rs.1,500 respectively.

In the cultural night, the audience was enthralled with more than 40 performances which included, singing, solo and group dance, instrumental music and ramp walk on theme retro.

MICAns showcased their unique Sports ramp walk.

The ramp walk competition was won by Teresian College, the solo dance and group dance competitions were won by Aryan Jain and SDC Group, Sheshadripuram College respectively.

The competition was judged by Pooja Joshi Igoor and SnehalIgoor. The winners were awarded cash prizes, certificates and trophies. The night ended with a DJ party by Allen and Spidy.

The MICA Music Sensation (MMS) Edition 2, judged by Ananya Bhat, Arti Muddaiah and Prasad, X factor and Pineapple Express Band performance were organised at MICA campus as part of the Fest.

In solo category, Preethi Padaki (16-18 years) & B.R. Shankar (19-22 years) and in the duet category, Chitkala & Swati won the title, cash prize, certificates and trophies.

X Factor showcased the unique talent like blind fold drumming, standup comedy, rock band and beat boxing. The performers were awarded unconditional gift coupons as a token of appreciation. The most awaited Pineapple Express Band performance thrilled the youth and the adults alike. The Band with their trade mark Anthem, performed for the first time in Mysuru. The Band was followed by DJ night by Akash Viresh, an alumni of MICA.
